Onir filmmakers have recently become headlines when the film’s text will come rejected by the Ministry of Defense.
The film is based on the true story of Major J Suresh, who comes out of the army because it no longer makes sense for him to come out as homosexual and remain in the Indian army.
While Onir had sent the film to be approved before about the shooting floor in March, the script was not approved by officials.

Speaking to Etimes, Onir said, “The film is called ‘We’ which I planned as the sequel to the 2011 ‘I am’, especially because I wanted to celebrate the Supreme Court’s verdict on 377 and tell four strange stories of love: one gay, one lesbian, One transgender and one bisexual.
When I was working on the story, the first story was based on gay love.
I came to the main suresh interview on the news channel where he talked about how he felt weak.
In the Army where he could not talk about his identity .
I thought after the Supreme Court’s decision, it must be a normal process that other institutions also adapt to new laws and also made inclusive policies where we as community celebrate diversity.

Added that he felt like that was a story to tell, Onir said, “I decided to write a fictitious story about a man of a soldier who fell in love but could not express his love for the situation.
Because he knew it was an army, it was illegal.
And he finally stopped From the army to reach the person he loved, because of this film about celebration of love.
It does not really describe the army in negative.
It only shows that a man is in love and he cannot continue in the place where he is because it does not accept His identity and he decided to sacrifice his love for the work he did because he couldn’t be right and honest with himself.

Furthermore, it stated that he was open to having a dialogue about his script, he said, “The law applies to all the following films will not be released on the OTT platform.
You cannot release content on the OTT platform that describes the army without NOC.
When you have no, you cannot be certified to release it anywhere.
I will appeal to the service again hoping they see some reason.
First, it is based on something real.
They can have a dialogue with me.
You can have a problem with a few The script area but to say that you cannot tell the story is not healthy.
Our troops are known to be progressive and I want to believe it will be an army that is quite open to change, to celebrate inclusion and diversity.
