New Delhi: Blowing up the lid of global online child harassment rackets, the CBI on Tuesday carried out attacks across 77 locations in this country after submitting 23 shots against 83 people suspected of being involved in the circulation of materials related to children’s exploitation.
About 10 suspects have been arrested and questionable, said the source.
About 5,000 people from as many as 100 countries are said to be involved in rackets.
The initial probe shows the use of social media platforms such as the WhatsApp group to circulate obscene materials.
CBI spokesman R C Joshi confirmed that there were more than 50 groups such as sharing and even trading child sexual abuse materials.
“Many of these groups also have the involvement of foreign nationals …” he added.
The CBI coordinates with other institutions about this problem.
Search and development of further leads are taking place.
