Chennai: Online class for all students studying in engineering, arts and science, except for first year students, will begin on August 9, the Higher Education Minister K Ponmudi told reporters in Chennai on Wednesday.
The online semester exam for this student ends in the third week of July.
Colleges are awaiting nods from the Department of Higher Education to start online classes for 2021-22.

The Collegiate Education Directorate facilitates acceptance to this college online through www.tngasa.in and www.tngasa.org portal.
“In addition to applying online, students can also create individual applications to government art and science colleges,” he added.
He further said the reopening of the college would be announced in consultation with the main minister and medical expert after the Covid-19 case subsided.
“Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we will direct all universities not to collect more than 75% of tuition fees for this year,” said Ponmudi.
The minister said the Ministry of Higher Education was also considering eliminating the norms whose mandates and students of Technology B to clear all papers in the first year to qualify to be promoted until the last year.
