Hyderabad: IIT-H students demand that the Institute close the physical class and shift to online mode for the current semester because more than 100 students at the Institute have been tested positively.
They say that students can leave campus for their home before the situation worsens if the Institute makes a timely decision or they will be trapped on campus if the locking or other restrictions are charged.
“Initially, they announced that online classes would be carried out until January 15, now they have extended it until February 7.
Why can’t they shift completely into online mode,” asked a student.
The authorities from the Institute, meanwhile, said that there were students who did not return to campus after the first wave and it was up to students whether to stay or not on campus.
“The Institute has received calls to have online classes until the situation increases,” said B S S Mahty, Director, Iith.
The current semester will end in April.
