Online fraudsters take taxi drivers for a ride, ordered

Coimbatore: Cybercrime police have registered a case against online fraudsters, who deceived Pollachi’s population of Rs 99,400 by promising to sell the car.D David John, 26, from Aishwariya Nagar in Pollachi, a taxi driver, plans to buy a used car.

Fraudsters have claimed that he is an army personnel and wants to sell the vehicle when he gets a transfer.
“David wants to test a vehicle, but a cheater demands a down payment.
Believe his words, David sent an installment of Rs 99,400 to the defendant last week.
Because he did not carry a vehicle, David filed a complaint,” said a police officer.
