Thiruvananthapuram: For the first time, the Department of Police’s promotion test will be carried out online to ensure transparency, reduce human efforts and bring more accountability in the test.
To start, promotional tests for civilian police officers (CPO) which will be held later this month will be online, where the software developed by the Kerala Police Academy has been adjusted to the National Informatics Center.
About 4,000 CPOs will take their tests online for their promotion as senior CPOS.
The test will be held in a center in each district, under the supervision of the committee chaired by ADGP (armed police battalion) K Padmakumar, digging (Thiruvananthapuram range) Sanjay Kumar Gurudin and SP (Information and Communication Technology) Divya Gopinath.
The department does not leave the stone missed to ensure that the test is done correctly.
Mock tests are done initially to improve software disorders, and after correction, repeated and discovered devices are successful.
This software has been designed in such a way that after the exam interface in the computer terminal is changed, by minimizing the page or by opening another page to find an online answer, the candidate will come out of the test, after that it will not be able to enter again.
“Customized software will ensure transparency and also reduce human intervention in tests.

The three-hour test will have questions about basic law, criminal procedure code and other relevant actions used in the investigation of everyday cases because they are the main people involved in basic investigations.
Resources in the Police Department say that the more COS is interested in appearing for the current test, because of the number of cos-senior posts, sub-inspectors and supervisors and more vacancies.
However, cos over the age of 50 is not required to appear for promotional tests.
The police department will also be, for the first time, conducting a test for police drivers, who also have the opportunity to be promoted as Head of Head Driver and Sub-Inspector of the Driver.
