New Delhi: India recorded the smallest decline in Covid-19 weekly infection since the second wave peak as calculated in the running week (July 19-25) fell only around 1.2% compared to the previous seven days.
The country recorded more than 2.7 lakh new cases in a week with an average of around 38,000, a little less than 38,548 which was recorded over July 12-18.
In the previous two weeks, cases of Covid each had fallen 6.5% and 5.5%.
The main factor behind the plateau of positive cases in this country is the acceleration number reported from Kerala, and at a lower level, from the Northeast.
Kerala recorded 1,10,593 new cases in the last seven days, registering a 15.7% sharp surge for a week before.
It is also the first time in seven weeks that any country in the country has reported more than 1 new lakh case in one week ending on Sunday.
Kerala accounts for more than 41% of all cases in this country on the week running.
Meanwhile, finally there were some positive news from Maharashtra, where cases fell at the speed of the snail over the past four weeks.
This week, the country recorded a decrease in the sharpest infection in five weeks, with cases down 10%.
The country recorded 6,848 deaths during WEE.
