Patna: When online studies are the only options available for students because of Covid’s pandemic, only 14% of school students in Bihar have access to computers.
According to the district information system report (UDISE) released recently, less than one in five schools has a computer that works and is only a limited number of those who have an internet connection.
Even more surprising knowing that 73% of students in neighboring Jharkhand have access to computers, the report said.

Former member of the public commission Bihar Shiv Jatan Thakur said it was truly embarrassing for the country that 86% of school children were deprived of online education facilities due to lack of digital technology.
