Only 2 months for fiscal to end, income NMC RS1,141CR lacks target

Nagpur: For financial years 2021-22, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) looked at the lack of Crore’s income of almost Rs1,100.
As against the RS2796.07 Crore target set by standing committee, civil bodies have succeeded in generating income only RS1,655.07 Crore from April 1, 2021, up to December 31, 2021, according to the data obtained from the NMC account and the Ministry of Finance.
The city of Commissioner Radhakrishnan B has projected the NMC budget at Rs 2607.6 Crore for current fiscal.
Civil income of the body in the first three fiscal quarters currently stands around 69.9% of the target.
Lack of income has forced the civil body to prioritize works.
But the source shows that it has never tried to find new sources of income and not dependence on government grants continues to increase.
Data revealed that the NMC had received more than RS1,027 Crore from the state government as a GST grant and another grant RS183 Crore.
However, from sources of income themselves, he has been able to produce only RS313.42 crore.
From this biggest part the property tax department produced by RS RS147.44 Crore.
But still the department has not even reached half of the target given from RS332 Crore.
The water department continues to do this financial year too.
As against the RS195 Crore target, so far it has only been produced by the Crore RS129.40.
Only the city planning department has reached the annual target.
As a target of RS102.63 Crore, it has collected RS111 Crore.
Swimming in the source of income has pushed NMC to see harder how much can spend.
This means that both civil bodies must find new areas to increase income or find ways to fund infrastructure projects.
Standing Chairman of the Prakash Bhoyar committee recently held a meeting of various departments including property taxes and the work of the Department of Air and suffering declaring more collection of poor income.
Meanwhile, Radhakrishnan B, who should attend the budget was revised and projected for 2021-22 and the next budget year, may delay by more than one month.
According to the rules, this civil head budget must be presented in the first week of February.
However, because there is no full time of head accounts and financial officers, civil administration has not started preparations.
The source said that Radhakrishnan can be present when the budget in the second week of March.
