Only 30% of Namma’s Metro work on Jalan Bannerghatta

Bengaluru: It has been more than four years since the work of Metro Namma began in Road Bannerghatta but the residents and regular commuters complained, there was little progress.
Stoi found a difference in the progress of civil work.
Newsletter BMRCL March 2021 claims that 37% of civil works are resolved in the Dairy circle of 7.5km – part of the agrahara kalena (pink line).
Although the November 2021 newsletter stated that 39% of the finished section, the latest (December 2021) now said only 30% of work was made.
In September 2017, BMRCL contracted RS 579 Crore to the cholkata-based simplex infrastructure for Bannerghatta Road work.
However, BMRCL stopped it in January 2021 due to poor progress.
In August 2021, BMRCL provided a delayed employment contract to Udapur-based GR Infra Projects Ltd.
(gril) at a cost of RS 365 Crore.
The source said the gril did not have previous experience in Metro projects so there was a delay in mobilizing labor and machinery.
Last month, the grille launched the first precast segment near Arekere.
“This corridor is part of the Phase 2 project approved in 2014 but the tender floated in 2017.
Simplex should finish it in 2019 but failed to give.
The driver who uses this road has struggled for more than four years,” Ram Kumar said, a commuter.
BMRCL Managing Director Anjum Parwez said: “There are some delays after many migrant workers return to their home city during the celebration season but now work has taken steps.
All pink lines will be ready in 2024.” This section has five stations in Road Bannerghatta.
