Nagpur: Senior Corporator Abha Pande on Thursday claims to have exposed the Nexus between Private Contractors, Project Management Consultants (PMC), and NMC engineers, in the construction of LPG crematoriums in Shanti Nagar Ghat.
“Project work order was issued in January 2017, but only the environmentally friendly cremation facility column had been built since then,” he said in the NMC public body meeting.
He demanded action against the relevant NMC engineer, black lists of private contractors and PMC to send a blurred project report.
In 2016, NMC received more than RS49 Lakh to build LPG-based cremation facilities in Shanti Nagar Ghat from Mplad Funds from former Rajya Sabha MP Avinash Pandey.
Furthermore, NMC issued worker orders on January 3, 2017.
The work must be completed in six months.
However, the contractor given work only builds the column for the structure.
The NMC project department allegedly paid more than RS12 Lakh to the contractor.
Pandey shows that the current project department asks the Satranjipura zone to complete the work of the contractor, while it must be the former responsibility.
Engineer Engineer Ajay Pohekar admitted that the administration had failed to complete the work of the contractor on time.
He confirmed that the area chosen for the arrangement inside Shanti Nagar Ghat fell short and hence the delay.
If the room is short then what PMC is appointed for that purpose, Pandey asks.
Which, Pohekar doesn’t answer.
Pohekar admitted that against the House of Representatives RS49 Lakh, NMC would face a lack of more than RS19 Lakh and would approach Kollectoran, however, he convinced the house that the job would be completed within three months.
The Mayor of Dayashankar Tiwari directed the administration to complete the earliest work without further delay.
