Only four positive cases reported from the Dakshina Kannada train station in four days

While the Dakshina District Administration Kannada has made a compulsory RT-PCR test for all tourists who arrive at the train station from Kerala and Maharashtra, data only suggests a very small amount – 0.6% – is a virus carrier.
On Monday, the district officials together with Mangaluru police officers moved 51 travelers from Kerala who arrived on the train at the Mangaluru Central and Mangaluru train station, to the City Hall, and collected swab samples.
The results show nothing is infected.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health, has collected a swab sample of 867 passengers between countries from two train stations for the past four days.
Of these, only four were tested positive for Covid-19.
Those who arrive on the train must complete the negative RT-PCR report which is no more than 72 hours.
Those who do not have a negative report immediately experience a RPCR test.
They can go only if they test negative.
Authorities, while stopping the collection of swabs at the Interstate Border Checkposts, have intensified supervision at the train station.
Dr.
Kishore Kumar M, District Health Officer, told TII that the Department had extended the Covid-19 supervision mechanism to two more stations – Suratshkal and Mulky – on the outskirts of the city.
At the low level of front of the passengers who arrived by the train, Dr.
Kumar said they did not take risks and could not override infections that spread through commuters between states.
“We ensure that the district is ready to prevent the third wave.
The health team has become a representative at the Junction Mangaloru Central and Mangaluru station with a 24×7 base.
Health staff reaches the station Kapelfal and Mulky per hour before the arrival of the train from Maharashtra, for supervision,” he said.
He admitted that the district had stopped collecting samples at the Interstate border check.
“We are now looking for all commuters from Kerala to present RT-PCR negative reports when entering Dakshina Kannada in the vehicle.
We also insist on all bus conductors on the Mangaluru-Kasaragod route, for which service suspended, to ensure that all passengers have a RT negative report -Pcr, “he said.
Commuter from Kerala complained that the administration of Dakshina Kannada violated the central government guidelines related to the inter-state movement.
MLA from Manjeshwar in Kasaragod AKM Ashraf also raised the problem in the Kerala Assembly on Thursday.
