Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday asked the state government to only allow the pilgrims who were fully vaccinated and had been tested negatively in the RT-PCR test to go to Sagar Island for annual pilgrimage and reconstitute the panel set to monitor the command adherence by replacing leaders Suvendu Adhikari’s opposition and representatives of the State Human Rights Commission with retired high court judges.
In a new state, the Chief Justice of the Justice of Prakash Shrivastava and Jewar Justice Doma Bhutia said the retired High Court Judge Samapti Chatterjee would be the Chairman of the New Committee, who would have a member secretary, the authority of West Bengal legal rights, as another member.
The bench argues that the Chief Secretary will be personally responsible for ensuring compliance from all his directions.
In addition, the Health Secretary will be responsible for monitoring the vaccination compliance of pilgrims.
The revised court order participated in five requests submitted before the bench questioned the composition of the monitoring panel of three members with political representatives and state governments and complaints that the state did not comply with the direction issued by the court.
In January 7, HC, in addition to establishing a monitoring committee, has asked the government to strictly enforce its own notification which makes the Assembly more than 50 at a time at social, religious or cultural meetings.
The panel can prohibit entries if the order is not implemented by the monitoring panel of two members have been empowered to recommend the ban on entering the Sagar Islands if noting any deficiency in the implementation of the direction of the court or discovering that the meeting at this exhibition leads to the spread of Covid.
