Only separate garbage will be lifted from December 15

Nagpur: From December 15, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will collect only garbage separated from home.
The City of Commissioner Radhakrishnan B on Saturday issued instructions to the Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) and two private companies Ag Enviro and BVG India, which were involved in collecting door-to-door, not lifting the garbage mixture.
This step began after NMC slipped in a recent ranking stated Swachh Bharat from 18 to 23.
There was, however, there was no provision to collect a fine not to follow the rules.
If the operator continues to transport unsegregated waste for Bhandewadi, they will be fined Rs 100 for each trip.
Residents find garbage disposal will be subject to sanctions according to the SWMD rules.
As per NMC, bio-degradable substances such as fruits, vegetables, leaves and flowers, and the remaining kitchen is wet waste and plastic, paper, glass, metal, aluminum foil etc.
dry garbage.
The civil body has appealed to residents to keep the red trash for diapers, women’s sanitary napkins, battery cells, paint cans, chemical sprays, disinfectants, bottle of empty drugs used for children and parents at home.
“This will be collected separately,” said SWMD Nodal officer Dr.
Gajendra Mahelle.
Previously NMC had announced the plan.
“This cannot be carried out because there is no separation on the source even though the garbage van is adjusted to dry collect and wet waste separately,” said Dr.
Mahelle, added that sanitation workers, employees of two companies and residents did not follow the command.
Dr.
Mahalle said the company had launched a conscious campaign in all 10 zones.
“Residents must keep garbage at home to dry and wet waste.
Companies must ensure they are collected separately and transported to Bhandewadi, “he said.
In the possibility of an increase in waste disposal in the open, Dr.
Mahalle said, “The SWMD team and the disruption detection squad will punish the residents.” On December 3, NMC has warned Ag Enviro and BVG India to remove only separate garbage in the bhandewi disposal of the page or subject to sanctions.
Dr.
Mahalle also said that the arrangement to dispose of wet and dry waste was made in Bhandewadi.
The city produces around 1,100 metric tons of garbage which includes 60% wet waste and 40% dry.
