Ooty Gardens welcomes visitors with flowers

Udhagamandalam: The garden in nilgiris does not record many footsteps on the first day reopened after four months.
Heavy rain, which attacked the city of Ooty and other parts of the district for one hour, also played spoilsport.
Government and Rose Botanical Gardens in Ooty and SIM Park in Coonor, among others are reopened to the public on Monday.
The visitors to the Botanical Gardens and Rose Gardens were greeted with flowers.
While the botanical garden welcomed 1,536 visitors, around 567 people sipping roses.
Taman SIM, meanwhile, recorded only 274 visitors.
Tea parks near Doddabetta and Arboretum in Ooty also do not record many footsteps.
Shiva Subramaniam Samraj, Joint Director, Horticulture Department, said that considering the situation of the pandemic, the number of visitors to exciting tourist attractions.
“Rain limits the movement of tourists in Ooty and Coonoor cities.” According to officials, most visitors are newly married couples and those from other districts in the state.
The garden authority has been ordered to follow standard operating procedures while allowing visitors to enter.

To create awareness about the importance of wearing facial masks and maintaining social distance, we have placed a conscious board in the garden.
