Hyderabad: The Minister of Administration KT Rama Rao urged Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to instruct local military authorities (LMA) to immediately open all roads in the Secunderabad Cantonment and stopped him from making unilateral and arbitrary decisions about the closure of public roads without following legal procedures.
, KTR said the closure of public roads by LMA affected millions of citizens every day, especially those who live in the north and northeast of Hyderabad.
“In arbitrary and illegal ways, local authorities often use the closure of these roads, resulting in infinite misery for most people because they have to take a detour to go every day,” he said in a letter sent to Rajnath Thursday , The minister has written a letter about this problem previously also looking for the intervention of the Union Minister in resolving this problem.
In the letter 2020 July, he said LMA had closed four important roads – Allahabad Gate Road, Gough Road, Wellington Road and Ordnance Road – quoted a surge in Covid-19 case.
“The streets are closed often for reasons that are bordered by reckless.
The state has taken all the necessary steps need to contain Covid-19, including the locking imposed in May and June 2021, and sees an increase, locking down on lolar.

The minister said there was no public road that could be closed by LMA or any authority other than SCB which was also without following the procedure below Section 258 Act Cantonment, 2006.
BLAULING all standard operating procedures, the guidelines and instructions of the Ministry of Defense, LMA continued the closure of the road.
“In fact, LMA has added more roads to such closure.
Lma is hardly obedient and ignores its own SOP and guidelines,” Ktr said.
He remembered that the mod in September 2018 has reviewed the closing issues of the road and insisted on the absolute need to follow the procedure prescribed based on Part 258 of the Cantonment Act and directed that no public roads in the Cantonment must be closed by LMA.
