Hyderabad: Manholes, which should be an access point for Sewers and Stormwater waterways, seems to cause serious threats for road users throughout the GHMC limit.
Only one hour trip to several parts of the city on Sunday revealed that there were several broken got holes, under repairs or raised to a height in such a way that they could remove the rider two-wheeled vehicles from their seats.
“There is one open manhole right in the middle of the road in our colony.
There are several incidents where two-wheeled vehicles and cars are trapped in them.
People also suffer a few serious injuries because of this problem,” said D Gangadhar, a resident of Bowenpally.
“The situation is getting worse during the rain because the whole road is flooded and you can hardly see Manhole open,” he added.
This situation applies even though GHMC suspends two engineers for the termination of the duties and slapped RS 1 Lakh in a penalty in a comprehensive road maintenance program after the disposal of open storm water near Gandhi Hospital was found to threaten human life.
Following this incident, all GHMC assistant engineers were asked to violate to check the manif hole every day and ensure that they were repaired and covered.
In other cases like that, residents claim that the damaged cover of a hole in Bhavani Nagar in Talabkatta has been crying over attention from the past six months.
Sharing a picture of a toddler who suffered a serious injury after falling into the open hole earlier this week, Resident Mohammad Saleem said, “We have asked the authorities to close the hole in the past six months.
Toddlers who fell into the Manhole hole suffering from some fractures on his shoulder.” Saleem Also highlighted the problem on Twitter recently by marking the Minister Maud KT Rama Rao.
