Open school in Telangana, but most students avoid classes

Hyderabad: Nearly 32 percent of students in this country attend physical classes on Tuesday and not many schools in the city, especially those affiliated with CBSE, ICSE and other boards, have continued the physical class even though the government announced the opening of all educational institutions from February 1.
According to Details Released by the Department of School Education, only 17.8 Lakh students from grade 1 to grade 10 in 38,307 schools throughout the country attended the physical class on Tuesday from a total of 55.11 lakh.
Although the daily attendance report released by the department said that 37,590 schools from a total of 38, 307 were reopened on Tuesday, members of the private budgetary school said that the number was far from reality because almost 40% of these schools were reopened on Tuesday.
“Some school management has not continued the offline class today because this is not a good day.
About 80% of the schools can be reopened tomorrow and the rest, especially the hostel, plans to reopen from February 7,” said Y Shekhar Rao, President, Telangana, School Management Association (TRSMA).
Students and teachers are down with covid-related symptoms is another major reason why many have not continued physical class.
“About 30% of teachers and many students or members of their family go down with Covid-19.
So, we don’t want to start offline classes soon.
We can reopen next Monday,” said S Narasimha Reddy, Principal, Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur.
B Shiva Raj, Telangana Vice President of the Telangana Private Teacher Forum (TPF), said “When we called parents to find out if they would send their children to offline classes, many say that their children went down coldly and related symptoms Other covids and that they prefer online mode.
“He, however, alleged that many management plans to run the rest of the academic year in online mode to save salaries and other expenses.
Some schools, meanwhile, have started physical classes only for class 9-12.
