Chennai: in front of the reopening of the school, Tamil Nadu has started a special vaccination camp for teaching and non-teaching staff and family members in all the states, Minister of Health MA Subramanian said on Friday.
The minister spoke after inaugurating a camp at a government school in Satapet together with the Minister of School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.
The Greater Chennai Corporation has visited 81% of non-teaching and almost 90% of teaching staff in Chennai.
“These camps will ensure accelerated vaccination for all school staff and their families.
On September 1, when the school is scheduled to be reopened, the Ministry of Health and Education must verify whether all staff are vaccinated,” he said.
The state has a special children’s environment and a pediatric ICU if children are affected, he said.
So far, Tamil Nadu has received 2.85 Doses of Covid-19 Crore Vaccine in Government centers.
Private hospitals received 21.63 doses of lakh.
TN has so far visited 2.81 crore doses in government vaccination centers and around 20.35 doses of lakh in private hospitals that took total tally up to more than three doses of crores.
On Friday, the country has 13 doses of the lakh vaccine, he said.
“On Thursday, more than five lakh people throughout the country including 1.5 lakh people in Chennai were vaccinated – the highest so far.
This center allocates 22 lakh additional doses this month is the same as how they gave 17 additional doses in July, “He said.
While the Puluktuttai district has visited all disabled people at least once, Ariyalur has vaccinated all pregnant women.
Overall the state has been vaccinated by 3.57 lakh pregnant women – the highest so far.
