Tokyo: One Olympic concerns personnel and contractors including three Covid-19 cases detected on Monday by game organizers, the day after three sportsmen, two of them lived in the village of athletes, tested positive for viruses.
Gamely related games based in Chiba.
The third case was a journalist who had traveled for the event and was under 14 days quarantine in Tokyo.
Contractors based in Saitama.
The three cases were expressed by the organizing committee in the Daily Update of the Covid-19 list.
The total number of related cases of games now stands at 58.
On Sunday, the first example of athletes who live in the village catching infection revealed.
Both are South African football players.
Their identity was not disclosed by the organizer but the South African Football Association issued a statement to make information clear.
The third infected athlete is staying at the hotel designated by the hotel and its identity is unknown.
A total of 10 cases were detected on Sundays, including the five match personnel in question, one contractor and a journalist.
The IOC Pierre Ducrey Director of Game Operations, however, insisted that there was no reason to worry right now.
“The Olympic participants are the most controlled populations in the world,” he said on Sunday.
The game will be held behind a closed door as an infection soaring in the Japanese capital, which has recorded more than 1,000 cases per day for the past few days.
The first athlete batch of the Indian contingent has been checked in in the village.
