Hyderabad: Cling to his dispute that the Srisailam project is conceived for Hydel power plants in United Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana Government has produced electricity from its units on the project.
This, despite the Krishna River (KRMB) management board to stop Hydel power plants from Srisailam after complaint by Andhra Pradesh.
Chief of Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has several occasions saying Telangana will produce power in Srisailam to meet the requirements of the country.
Telutana Genco officials confirmed that they had continued to produce between 300 and 450 MW by operating two or three of the six units, depending on power demand in the state.
Each of the six units has a capacity of 150 MW at the Power Hydroelectric Srisainam station.
“We will advance with Hydel power plants in all irrigation projects on the Krishna River such as the Jura (Priyadarshini Jura), Lower Jurwa, Srisailam, Nagarjunasagar and Pulichintala.
About 1,220 MW Power Resulted from these units on September 4, while it dropped It becomes 976 MW on Monday because of power demand falls due to continuous rain in the entire state.
We have not received instructions from the government to stop the production of hydel power from Srisailam, “said Senior Director of Telangana Genco to Tii on Monday.
During the recent KRMB board meeting on September 1, Telangana and AP were in forging through a power plant in Srisailam.
The Telangana government has argued that the Sriswaam project was intended for Hydel power plants.
Telangana irrigation officials even walked out of the meeting and said they would not attend the meeting if the board wanted to hold another meeting about the power of Hydel.
The government also said it did not have objections if the AP produced Hydel power from the units in Srisailam.
Previously, a few months ago, CM Chandrasekhar Rao had directed Telangana Genco to produce 100% of Hydel’s strength to meet the requirements of the country.
Based on power requirements, Genco officials have operated units for power plants.
Officials said the power request fell to 7,000 MW on Monday from around 9,000 MW two days ago because of the applicable weather conditions.
Interestingly, the Telangana government broke the previous Hydel power record by continuing to produce and utilize 2,085 million units (MU) in the last five months, namely April 5 September against only 1,193 MU for the same period in 2020.
This, 880 MU from Srisailam and 879 Others from the Nagarjunasagar unit.
