Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition and the government locked the horns in the assembly on Wednesday for the case of Ramanattukara gold smuggling and incidents related to him, including the death of a man who was called by this case.
Looking for a delay movement, Thiruvanchor Radhakrishnan MLA said Ramez K C (Ayanki Arjun Ayanki’s feet accused), could be suspected of being killed to prevent the details of the case out.
He said as many as 20 cases of crimes related to gold smuggling have been reported in the past year near airports in the state and the government cannot wash their hands from the responsibility of maintaining law and order in the state.
Replying to the allegation, the chairman of the Pinarayany Minister Vijayan said it was the center of the responsibility to curb incidents such as gold smuggling because the habit had been included in the seventh schedule of the Constitution.
He said the police did not have a role at the airport even if they spent several tasks.
The police have registered cases under Section 279 and 304A IPC in Rameez’s death, and investigating this problem.
