New Delhi: Opposition leader at Rajya Sabha, Malikarjun Kharge tested the positive Coronavirus on Thursday.
“He was asymptomatic and was under house isolation.
He was fully vaccinated but did not qualify for the dose of his prevention,” his office said in a statement.
Ravindra Garimella, Secretary Kharge, wrote in the statement, “opposition leader at Rajya Sabha, Malikarjun Kharge, has been tested positive for Covid-19 in a routine RT-PCR test on January 12, 2022.” “Kharge asymptomatik and is under house isolation according to the guideline.
He is fully vaccinated, but has not been eligible for the dose of prevention or booster which requires a 9-month gap from the date of the second dose of vaccination,” read.

The statement said, “Kharge wants to use this opportunity to encourage all those who are eligible to vaccinate and especially, senior citizens to take the priority doses as soon as they are eligible.
He also wants to urge the government to see it when expanding the population that meets Requirements for receiving a booster dose and reducing the time gap between the 2nd dose and prudential doses.
