Opposition Questions delay in Jalasairi, LED Project

Mangaluru: Corporator Congress in the opposition in the MCC Board, asked BJP and powerful officials for delaying the implementation of Jalasairi and LED street lights in the city.

“This is intended to complete the project in December this year, but work has not been completed in many wards,” he said.
The Mayor of Premanand Shetty said, “I have held a recent meeting, and has been found that the work did not develop satisfactorily.
We have warned agencies and commissioners have notifications presented in this regard.
We will be requesting a penalty clause as well as delay.” Meanwhile, the former Mayor of Bhaskar Moony from Congress showed a slow rate of work on the Jalasairi project.
Shashidhar Hegde, another senior canporator from Congress, also noted that there was incompatibility in the estimated work and reality of land, when it comes to the implementation of the Jalasairi project.
Officials said that more workers would be deployed to accelerate the implementation of the Jalasairi project.
Meanwhile, the mayor told board members that separate meetings would be held to discuss LED and Jalasairi projects.
New Software for SAS Tax Board approved a proposal to develop new software to facilitate payment of online property tax with self-assessment system (SAS), through Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (Keonik).
The Mayor of Shetty said that the demonstration of the proposed online property tax payment system will be held within a week.
