Bengaluru / MySuru / Dharwad: A large number of farmers throughout the country will answer Bandh Bharat’s call on Monday to protest the central new agricultural law.
The impact of demonstrations in Karnataka, however, is expected to be minimal despite supporting Congress and JD.
With the economy in recovery mode after a disturbance driven by pandemic, business, including restaurants and hotels, has indicated that they will operate as usual, while educational institutions say they are unable to lose more time.
SSLC additional examinations, in fact, are scheduled for Monday.
The Minister of Transportation B Sriramulu said that the government would not suspend the bus service.
“The government will not support band calls or stop public transportation.
We will ensure that there is security for all passengers and buses continue to ply as usual,” he added.
Various transportation unions, including BMTC, Autos and taxis, have offered support for farmer agitation, but emphasized that they would not stop the service.
Interior Minister Araga Jnanendra said that the police department had been directed to ensure adequate security throughout the country.
“The authorities keep watching a close watch in all sensitive locations, including the city of Bengaluru and the outskirts,” he said.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha has called Bandh 10 hours on Monday to mark one year from three agricultural laws authorized in parliament.
Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar said: “Congress supports the demands of the peaceful farmers and bandh they call.” Former Chairman of the HD Minister Kumaraswamy from JD announced the same thing, adding that he hoped the sister would be peaceful.
“JD will support the cause of farmers and support bandh.
We will raise our voices in every forum for people,” he said.
Farmer groups are expected to regulate Dharnas and Rally, which can cause traffic chaos.
But they may not receive a lot of public support on the ground.
In Bellagavi, the Chairman of the Minister of Bumavaraj Bommai asked farmers not to participate in Benh Bharat and allowed economic activities to continue.
“When the country has just come out of the lock and the economy takes steps, calling the closure to harm the interests of people.
It will hurt ordinary people and even farmers.
I urge them to draw a protest call,” he said.
D Shashi Kumar, Secretary of the Elementary School Association and Secondary Karnataka, said that they would support the problem of farmers morally, but still open.
“We just reopened.
We were unable to close the school again,” he added.
Commissioner for Public Instruction R Vishal said that there was no decision taken by school and it would depend on the availability of transportation services.
Bandh organizers say they will not stop public transportation because the SSLC additional exam is scheduled to begin on Monday.
“The government should postpone the exam taking into account protests.
However, we have decided not to disturb the candidates that appear for newspapers.
The bus and vehicles used by these candidates will not be stopped,” said Badagalapura Nagendra, President Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha.
The Amotis Hotel Association said that while the company was sympathetic to farmers’ problems, they could not suspend surgery.
“It has been decided that all hotels will remain open.
Closing the hotel for one day when this sector recovers from a loss of pandemic will not be suitable for travelers or farmers.
More than 50 percent of what farmers are used in hotels.
If we stay closed throughout the day , farmers will also suffer losses, “said PC Rao, President of the Association of Bangaluru Hoteliers.
