New Delhi: Mamata Banerjee, who once again carried out a mission to unite opposition parties against BJP, held a series of political meetings on the first day of the national capital.
The visit of the Chairman of the West Bengal Minister to Delhi, the first after his impressive victory against BJP in the state, was part of his efforts to try and bring opposition parties on one platform ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha.
On Tuesday, after a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mamata said, “Opposition Association will form itself.” When asked about leading opposition, Mamata intelligently exceeded direct response and said “the country will lead the opposition, we will follow.” In the first political meeting on Day 1, Mamata met with the leaders of the Senior Congress Kamal Nath and Anand Sharma.
On the second day of his visit Mamata would meet with the President of the Interim Congress Sonia Gandhi, Minister Delhi, Arvind Kejriawal and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Supremo Sharad Pawar.
This is not the first time Mamata works to bring together opposition parties to BJP.
In the process of selecting the Sabha 2019, Mamata has held a massive opposition rally attended by several parties including Congress.
However, the opposition effort was then not enough to stop March’s march victory from BJP.
However, this time, he also received support from his political advisor Prashant Kishor, who also met with several opposition leaders.

The Head of the BJP of the State Dilip Ghosh also reminded Trinamool from the 2019 election results.
“They must face a rough surprise after 2024 polling Lok Sabha.
TMC should study one or two lessons from 2019’s performance when the calculation drops from 34 to 22,” said Dilip Ghosh.
Reacting to Ghosh’s comments, Secretary General of the State of TMC Kunal Ghosh claimed that the Safron Party was increasingly nervous with his efforts to Cobble together in front of the Anti-BJP party.
“Such statements only reflect their nervousness.
No one can deny the fact that Mamata Banerjee appears as a nucleus of the opposition unity after assembly of victory polls,” he said.
