Ops urged TN Govt to destroy the dilapidated building

Madurai: The coordinator of AIDMK O Panneerselvam on Thursday urged the Tamil Nadu government to identify the building left and dilapidated in the state and undermine them without delay.
Head of Constable C Saravanan, 44, died and Kannan’s head of Kannan, 49, suffered an injury when an old building collapsed on Jalan Veli Timur in Madurai in the early days of Wednesday.
Noting that the building that collapsed in the 110-year-old Madurai, Panneerselvam said that only identification and demolition of such buildings and strict legal actions against building owners would prevent the accident.
He urged the government to increase compensation from Rs 25 Lakh which was announced for Kin Saravanan, given the fact that he died while on duty.
Ops urged the government to fully bear the cost of medical Kannan undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
The government has announced Rs 5 Lakh for Kannan.
