Bengaluru: PSU Defense Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Friday said it has secured orders for manufacturing, assembly, integration, testing and supply of high speed air (heat) systems – named Abhyas – from Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE).
Ade is a lab under the Defense Research Development Organization (Drdo).
Thing and Ade did not immediately reveal the contract value.
“Post this initial order settlement, things will be identified as Development-Cum-Production Partners (DCPP) for the supply of this target system along with private companies (50% of volume),” said things.
This platform is estimated to have a large requirement of the Tri-Services and Laboratory of Drdo for testing the evaluation of missilers.
Abhyas was first successfully set in May 2019 after the next evaluation test was carried out by Ade-Drdo.
And, this order will mark the beginning of the Abhyas production series.
Abhyas, designed and developed by Ade is a air vehicle launched using a twin turnover booster that provides initial acceleration to the vehicle.
It is powered by a gas turbine machine to maintain a long durability flight with subsonic speed.
“The target aircraft is equipped with a micro micro micro (MEMS) inertia (MEMS) navigation system for navigation with flight control computers (FCC) for guidance and control.
Vehicles are programmed for fully autonomous flights.
Check-out air vehicle is done using land control stations based Laptop (GCS), “Hal added.
