Gurgaon: The local consumer forum has directed luxury car makers and service partners who are the most authority to replace the car engine after the owner claimed that he was charged 7 lakh Rs in three months for repairs, but the problem was not resolved.
Nishit Kataria, the complainant, told the forum that he bought Mercedes ML 350 in 2013.
Kataria argued that the car had traveled 52,000 km and maintenance and service was carried out at the official Carmaker Service Station, T & T Motors.
He claimed he found a vehicle vibrating while being pushed and sent him to the T & T service station several times for repairs between August and October 2020, but the problem survived.
“Between August and October 2020, the car was sent to the service station several times for inspections and repairs, but the problem continued.
In December, they told us that there were errors on the machine, and they had to open the machine completely.
They claim this error has been happens because of dust in the machine, “Kataria said.
“My car has been served regularly at the official service station on schedule.
The station billed me around Rs 7 lakh but their engineers never showed the problem on the previous machine.
There is every possibility that the alleged mechanical error on the machine was made by technicians or manufacturing defects, “Added Kataria.
He then decided to approach the consumer forum.
Chandan Malik, advice for T & T, said the service and maintenance schedule provided in the owner’s manual by the vehicle manufacturer has not been strictly followed.
“The vehicle was taken to the service station between August and October 2020 for various problems that appeared in an eight-year-old vehicle.
None of these improvements are repetitive jobs,” he said.
Rishab Gupta, advice for Mercedes-Benz India, said, “The company has denied all the allegations is wrong and reckless.” Cathedaria submits complaints with consumer disputes, recovery of commissions.
Amit Arora, President of the Commission, directed the parties to change the engine.
The sequence clarifies that new machine costs can be paid by the three car companies, service stations, and owners – with the same stock of 33% respectively.
Because the complainant has paid Rs 7 lakh, the number will be deducted from its part, the Commission states.
