Patna: The State Government has decided to issue regulations next week, change the relevant part of Bihar Municipality Act, 2007 to facilitate the direct election of the mayor and deputy mayor of city companies and their heads and deputies in other urban local agencies (ULBs), said source.
“The Country Cabinet approved the proposal last Wednesday and the governor had also given its approval.
Therefore, legal cells have begun the process of providing forms of correct ordinances.
In all probabilities, regulations will be issued next week,” the top source said in urban development and housing department.
This ordinance is intended to change the two articles from existing ACT – Article 23 (1) and Article 25 – and how to pave to fill the headboards and deputy head ULBs through direct election.
It is also in practice in other countries such as Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, UP and Uttarakhand.
The election of ULB will not be held on the party lane.
