Children were allowed to fight for themselves after their parents died because Covid was more than a year ago.
Other children aged five, three and two years old.
A video from them begged food, with the oldest sister who brought a baby on his arm, shared widely on social media.
Madhya Pradesh Cm Shivraj Singh Chouhan saw the video and ordered the government to save them.
Fifth is now in a shelter for children.
Their father died in February last year and their mother in March.
Their aunt made them with her for a while but then left them with their grandfather in Bhind.
Children can be given to be adopted, if their relatives give approval, said the source.
