Bhubaneswar: Following a significant decline in the Covid case in the state, the Odisha State Commission for the protection of children’s rights (OSCPCR) on Saturday wrote to the state government to allow the reopening of the school from the first grade 1 to V.
The state government has enabled the commencement of physical classes for class VI students to XII gradually, but the government has not made decisions about the primary classes.
“Prolonged school closure for nearly 20 months has had a negative impact on children’s mental and physical development.
It is very difficult to develop reading and writing skills in online mode, specifically for children at the primary level,” said Sandhyabati Pradhan, Chair of the OSCPCR.
