New Delhi: West Bengal Mla beat Roy may have returned to the TMC fold but the BJP days have not been completely behind him.
Twice in the past week, the TMC leader made an embarrassing mistake by saying that BJP will win the election by assembly elections.
The latest incident came when he took a reporter after a PAC meeting.
“BJP will win if a selection is held at Krishnanagar North,” said Roy.
For questions if TMC will not be able to win a seat, he says it will be decided by those from the constituency.
However, he said that TMC would do well in the assembly selection of 2023 in Tripura.
On August 6, Roy said at a press conference in Krishnanagar in the Nadia district that BJP would win the Bypoll in the state.
Realizing his faux fitting, he quickly corrected himself by saying he really meant TMC.
Senior politicians have left the Mamata Banerjee party in 2017 to join BJP.
He returned to TMC about a month after the assembly election results were stated in 2.
However, it was officially still BJP MLA from the northern constituency of Krishnanagar and had been made as Chair of the Public Account Committee (PAC) from the State Assembly.
BJP demanded Disqualification Roy as a member of the Assembly under the anti-defecting law and removal from the PAC Chairman who traditionally went to the opposition party.
The TMC leadership has said that Roy is BJP MLA and therefore the appointment as the PAC chairman will not cause problems with technical reasons.
