PANAJI: Reacting to the resignation of the Minister of Science and Technology Michael Lobo, State President of BJP Sadanand Shet Tanavade on Monday said that they expect it, and that for the past year, lobo is physically present in the party but not with all his heart.
He said that Lobo had one agenda – to secure a ticket for his wife, and BJP was not interested in giving it.
Tanaavade said that Lobo demanded tickets to deliver Lobo many times, and were told it was impossible.
In the next five days, the party will complete his candidate for Calangute, said Tanavade.
President BJP also said that if Lobo had so many problems with the party, he should have stopped as Minister six months ago.
“When the lobo decided to get a ticket for his wife, he decided to break the relationship with BJP.
He was waiting to see if BJP gave a ticket to his wife.
Out lobo would not make a difference for BJP,” Tanavade said.
When asked whether political equations would change at Bardez at the lobo exit, said Tanavade, “Lobo has not been entrusted with the task (win) Bardez.
Lobo should only talk about Calangute.
BJP will set a candidate in Calangute and win the chair”.
“We will not have a setback in the constituency of Calangute.
Even before the lobo, BJP has played the election in Calangute.
BJP makes the ZP Lobo member and MLA.
BJP is strong in Calangute and does not need to worry,” he said.
Reacting to the lobo statement that BJP was not the party during the former Minister of Manohar Parrikar, Tanavade said that Lobo “should not teach us about the party and how to run”.
He said, “BJP is not a regional party and is not run by one person, he should not talk about the BJP function,” he said.
“If the lobo wants to do social work, he should demand a ticket to BJP Karya and not his wife.
BJP is not shaken by his exit.” Meanwhile, to fight the effects of lobo resignation, BJP has asked MLAS to talk to him.
