New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has taken control of the decision of “orders out” from the Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRO) in the case of Afghanistan citizens living in India.
If the Fro division does not allow Afghan citizens to live in India after their visa ends or they failed to submit required documents that support reasons to live in India, this problem will be transferred to MHA for the final decision.
The ministry made a decision to consider an unstable situation in Afghanistan to avoid the possibility of local level abuse against Afghan citizens.
This step came after MHA issued a new guideline earlier this month, mentioning the Frro division would not be able to issue ‘orders out’ or ‘Leave Indian notifications’ to Afghan citizens.
“Come on the order, if there are Afghan citizens want to live in India and he cannot submit his documents by meeting the criteria to stay here before Frro, this problem will go to MHA for the final decision if there is a problem of Frro they ‘leave India’s notifications,” said an official of the Senior House Ministry to Ani.
The official said that the move was taken to give us assistance to citizens of Afghanistan who passed the worst phase because they did not feel safe in their own country today.
“All Afghan citizens living in India under any category will utilize this facility,” officially added.
MHA’s guidelines also stated that citizens of Afghanistan who live in India in any visa category will have their extended visa on ‘at no cost’ until further orders.
Afghanistan has been in chaos since last month when the Taliban seized power ahead of the withdrawal of US troops after 20 years of occupation.
When the Taliban confiscated Kabul, a resident of a desperate country flooded the airport trying to get out.
India has helped its citizens out of the war-hit by war.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also explained that the country would help Hindus and Sikh from Afghanistan and those who were ‘friends’.
The ministry in the order on September 2 has also extended the Indian visa or a living period of foreign nationals stranded in India due to Pandemic Covid-19 to 30 September.
Before leaving the country, foreigners can submit online for out permissions on the e-fro portal, which will be given by Fro or the Fro concerned with a free basis without retribution from each excessive penalty.
If a visa extension is needed outside September 30, 2021, the Ministry said, the national foreign relevant can submit an extension of a visa on the e-fro platform online with a payment basis, which will be considered by the Fro / Fro concerned, subject to the feasibility of the existing guidelines.
“However, citizens of Afghanistan have been in India in any visa category there will be a visa extension in the guidelines issued separately for Afghan citizens.”
