Midnapur Barat: With the overflow of the Silboti River, West Bengal Ghatal Subdivision is flooded.
More than 20 villages and thousands of hectares of agricultural land in the area were influenced by flood water.
Prabir Mondal businessman said the flood had affected the movement when the road that connected to midnapur to Daspur, Ghatal and Kolkata was flooded.
“We can only travel when the water level is reduced.
It was much higher on the day but had receded now,” he said.
Flood water also enters the ghatal residential area.
Shapan Doloi, the resident of the region said the knee water accumulated in his house.
“We face many problems because of flooding.
We are helpless,” said another resident of Parul Doloi.
Boatman Nepal Bodhuk said the water level of Silboti, which continued to increase before, has now stopped.
