Coimbatore: corporate commissioner King Gopal Sunkara examined the overhead tank with a capacity of 20 laks at Sundarapuram at Ward 96 on Thursday.
Officials said the tank construction work was almost run out and would soon be used to the public.
The pipe from the tank will supply water to Sundarapuram, Loganathapuram and its surroundings.
Because of the increase in pressure on the pipe, the tank will help water reach the tip of the tail area that experiences a little water flow until now.
The Commissioner also examined the works of pipelines for underground drainage systems in fields such as Gandhi Nagar, Mgr Nagar, Vellalur, Itteri and in Annai Indira Nagar at Ward 95.
He instructed the relevant official to complete the work in the specified time.
Next, he checked the construction work from the pump station in Muthu Nagar at Ward 100.
