HYDERABAD: India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday occurred on the twitter to state his own view that lockdowns aren’t a way to fight Covid-19 and the worldwide vaccination was not the sole long-term remedy.
In a set of tweets hours prior to the Telangana state cabinet headed by chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao fulfilled to have a call on expansion of lockdown, Owaisi said that:”As statistics reveals, Covid-19 instances were reducing much before lockdown was enforced on May 12.
It is quite obvious that it is not lockdown which assisted.
In addition, it is obvious that Covid-19 may be combatted with no lockdown.
” He recommended the chief minister’s office (@Teolangana CMO) not to prolong the lockdown.
“If the objective is to decrease crowding, then we might consider day curfews from 6 pm onwards or mini-lockdowns from Covid-19 clusters.
But anticipating 3.
5 crore individuals to endure for months with only a 4-hour lockdown comfort isn’t reasonable whatsoever,” he also tweeted.
The sole long-term remedy would be universal vaccination.
Lockdowns provide a cruel option into the poor: poverty, and police atrocities or even pandemic.
They create a public health catastrophe to a law and order issue.
They’re neither a scientific nor a diplomatic plan, he said.
“We must admit the term is a long-term reality.
An individual can battle it by educating the general public about mask usage and social networking, and tweaking government policies to promote and empower such lifestyle modification,” he further added.
