New Delhi: After Health Minister Union Harsh Vardhan and his deputy resigned on Wednesday, Congress said it was a candidate for the “monumental failure” in managing Covid-19 pandemics.
The leader of the Senior Congress P Chidambaram took friction at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that everything went right, credit would go to him and if they did not, it would fall to the concerned minister.
Other Senior Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh said Vardhan had made a scapegoat for failure at the highest level.
“The resignation of the Minister of Health of the Union and MOS Health is Candid’s recognition that the MOD government really fails to manage pandemics,” Chidambaram wrote on Twitter.
“There are lessons for ministers in this resignation.
If everything becomes a credit will go to PM, if the minister’s mistake will become the autumn person.
That is the price of a minister paying implicit compliance and unqualified disobedience,” the former Minister of Union said.
Ramesh said, “Poor Dr.
Harsh Vardhan, a good man, has made a scapegoat due to a monumental failure at the highest level – another place.” Chairman of Congress Spokesman Randeep Surjewala said Covid management in this country was led by the Prime Minister and asked why Vardhan made a scapegoat.
He said the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), led by the Prime Minister, was responsible for “Criminal Evacuation” Covid-19.
“Will PM be responsible for his failure? Or will you just make Dr.
Harshvardhan scapegoat for PM failure?” Surjewala wrote on Twitter.
Vardhan, whose handling the Covid-19 crisis pulled flared from critics, resigned from the council of the ministers on Wednesday, hours before the expansion of the cabinet.
