National weather services issued excessive heat warnings for Portland and Medford, Oregon, many of Columbia River Gorge and Willamette Valley, along with the Vancouver area, Washington.
“Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat-related diseases, especially for those who work or participate in outdoor activities,” said weather service in an advisor.
Oregon Governor Kate Brown expressed an emergency to anticipate hot and cities opening cooling into the residents without air conditioning.
Electric boxes can be tested, especially during the hottest days, is expected to come on Thursday and Friday as a high pressure dome built on the Pacific Northwest.
The same atmospheric condition was blamed for heat waves in July which burned most of M.
West and triggered a series of forest fires that had been burned throughout the summer.
