Bhubaneswar: Pratibha Ray’s leading writer has been chosen for Padma Bhushan for his contribution in the field of literature and education.
Six others from Odisha have been chosen for Padma Shri.
The center announced awards on Tuesday.
“I am happy to receive awards because my country is happy and my readers are happy.
I am happy that the center gives recognition to work in my language, which is a classic language.
I have never decided on our own writing.
This award will certainly increase my responsibilities,” Ray said, Jnanpith’s award winner and Moortidevi.
Prasad Dash for Science and Technology, Srimad Baba Balia for Social Work and Guruprasad Mohapatra (Anumerta) in the Civil Service category.
It was the excitement in West Odisha after the pramod shuttler Bhagat and the author of Narasingha Prasad Teacher was named for Shri Padma.
“I am very happy to know that I have been nominated for the prestigious Shri Award Padma.
Year 2021 was a great year for me and at the beginning of 2022 I was nominated for Shri Padma.
This will motivate and inspire me to do better,” said Bhagat.
Vocalist Shyamamani Devi said, “This award is a recognition of my 72-year-old trip in music.
With my sincere attempt, I have tried to take Odissi music to a respectable position.
The trip will continue.” Dash, a biologist, has contributed significantly in the field Research on Malaria and Vector Borne (VBD).
Dash works for more than 35 years in research at the Institute of Life Sciences and the Indian Medical Research Council and also holds a leading position in strengthening and building research and academic capabilities and central networks of excellence in many countries in Southeast Asia.
