Erode: A 65-year-old man and his 60-year-old wife was arrowned near Nambiyur in Erode district on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as S Daniyappan, 65, from Kettiseviyur Village near Nambiyur and his wife a muniomal, 60.
Andiyappan raised more than 40 chickens and roosters for sale.
A police officer said that on Saturday night, munalmal went to the farm to feed the chicken and roosters.
When he opened the farm gate, he experienced an electric shock and fell unconscious.
When Andiyappan continued to save his wife, he was asleep electric as well as Sowmya’s troops A Venkatachalam diverted the main electrical connection and reminded Nambiyur police about the incident.
The body was taken and sent to the Gobichettipalayam government hospital for postmortem.
Sowmya was treated because of his injury.
An excellent investigation revealed that Andiyappan had installed an electric fence to protect the chickens.
