New Delhi: Pakistan quietly allowed all “diplomats” appointed by the Taliban took over the authorities and consulates of Afghanistan in the country, Dawn reported on Saturday.
While Islamabad has not recognized the Taliban as a legitimate government in Kabul, has published a visa to the designated “diplomat”, the report said.
According to the report, Sardar Muhammad Shokaib has begun working as the first secretary at the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad, while Hafiz Mohibullah, Mullah Ghulam Rasool and Mullah Muhammad Abbas has been assigned to the Peshawar Consulate, Quetta and Karachi from Afghanistan.
Shokaib effectively will be an accusation of Afghanistan d’affaires in Islamabad.
There is no detail about Shokaib which is shared but according to a report in the American voice, he is an ethnic pashtun from Zabul Province who served in the Information and Culture Department in South Kandahar and was associated with Taliban magazine.
The Afghan embassy in Pakistan has been without ambassador since July when the last messenger under the previous regime, Najibullah Alikhil, left because of the controversy because of the alleged kidnapping of his daughter Silsila Alikhil.
A spokesman for the Pakistani Foreign office ASIM Iftikhar tried to shrink the new promise by saying that it was a “administrative problem”.
“With regard to the appointment of new staff at the Afghan Embassy, this is an administrative problem and is intended to enable the embassy to perform its functions, especially consular functions as you know there are millions of Afghan refugees in Pakistan and there are visas.
Problems too,” he said.
Pakistan has tried to convince the world to diplomatically involved with the Taliban after they established their de-facto control in Afghanistan on August 15.
According to reports, Pakistan content even helps during the establishment of the government’s formation of the Taliban with Kabul to Kabul.
