Pak Foreign Minister Meets Interim Afghanistan PM, holds bilateral talks in Kabul

KABUL: Foreign Minister Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday met the Interim Afghanistan Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, when he visited the Capital of Afghanistan for the first time since the Taliban State takeover in mid-August.
Qureshi has arrived in Kabul for daily visits and arranged to hold important talks with Afghan leadership, Geo News reported quoting a statement of foreign offices.
Take it to Twitter, Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Pakistani Ambassador to Afghanistan, said that Afghanistan PM had received the Qureshi FM at the President of the President Arg, and bilateral talks were underway.
He also informed that the discussion focused on facilitating the interaction of people-to-person, trade, transit, and connectivity between two countries.

Bilateral talks are undergoing the presence of the leading Afghan ministers for facilitating people to interact, trade, transit and connectivity between two brotherhood,” Mansoor Ahmad Khan tweeted.
The visit came after the Moscow format meeting that concluded on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, member countries took part in the Moscow format dialog in a joint statement expressing concern over the use of Afghan land with prohibited terrorists.
Russia has expressed concern over the presence of ISIS and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan after the Taliban took over.
The joint statement issued after the conversation stated, “worried about the activities of the terrorist organization which were banned in Afghanistan, the parties reiterated their willingness to continue to promote security in Afghanistan to contribute to regional stability”.
Participating countries also requested the current Afghanistan leadership to take further steps to improve governance and form truly inclusive governments that reflect the interests of all major ethnopolitical forces in the country.
“This will be a fundamental prerequisite for resolving the national reconciliation process in Afghanistan,” added a shared statement.
