Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday urged the world community to release Afghan frozen assets and engage with the Taliban government and provide humanitarian assistance to prevent the “economic collapse” of the country.
According to Dawn, Khan made this interesting for the international community during his meeting with the Japanese Ambassador who came out, Kuninori Matsuda at the prime minister’s house.
Imran Khan also emphasizes Pakistani interests in “peaceful” and “stable”, report dawn.
He reportedly highlighted the importance of “national reconciliation” and the “inclusive” political structure.
In particular, the Taliban has not been recognized by any country so far.
However, thousands of Afghans have received humanitarian assistance within a week from September 27 to October 3 in Afghanistan, a UN agency said earlier this month.
Taliban have taken over Afghanistan after dropping a democratic government on August 15 this year.
Pakistan has been accused of openly and accidentally supported the Taliban.
