Kabul: Pakistan has allowed thousands of Afghan students to cross the Torkham border to return to Afghanistan, local media reported on Monday.
Citing the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul’s statement, Khaama Press reported that “up to a thousand Afghan students were allowed to cross Torkham to the country.”

It has been almost two months when the Taliban arrested Kabul after aggressive and rapid progress against Afghan government forces after US military withdrawals.
Previously, hundreds of students returned from Torkham Crossing Points after being made to wait all day at the intersection, Khaama Press reported.
The Pakistani embassy then said that students did not have the right gate to cross.
Pakistan rarely continues to open the intersection point of Torkham in the East Afghanistan and rotates Boldak in the southeast after the Taliban takeover, publication said.
The decision has placed tens of thousands of people in big problems in both countries because they often crossed points for family, education and business visits.
The closure of crossings has also placed Afghan traders in difficulties and causes severe financial losses as exports, fruits and fresh vegetables, rotting in trucks waiting at the intersection point, Khaama Press reports.
