Lahore: A man allegedly burned his daughter’s house in a village in the Muzaffargh district in Central Pakistan, killed them and four of their children because one of the women married his wishes, said the police on Sunday.
Manzoor Hussain, who allegedly burned the house shared by Sister Fauzia Aunt and Khurshid Mai, was being hunted, Abdul Majeed’s officer told Reuters by telephone.
Hussain lives in the nearest village, he added.
Mai’s husband also died in Blaze, said Majeed.
According to the officer, Auntie married one Mehboob Ahmad about 18 months ago against his father’s will.
“The incident was the result of competition between the two families over a love marriage,” Majeed said.
Aunt Ahmad’s husband told the police that he was not at home during the incident and found the house on fire when he returned from the office early in the morning.
Ahmad said his four-month-old son had died, along with three two-year-old Mai children, six and 13.
