Dhaka: Pakistan aims to maintain the momentum of their strong T20 World Cup with troops whose most unchanged for this week’s tour in Bangladesh, Babar Azam captain said Thursday.
The Babar side stormed through the Super-12 phase of the Dubai tournament with five consecutive wins before five-goal surprises lost the final winner in the semi-finals.
Pakistan lowered the same line-up in all of their six World Cup matches and has maintained almost the same forces for the Bangladesh series, which began with Twenty20 Friday showdown in Dhaka.
“Momentum is always important in cricket and we want to bring that momentum,” said Babar to reporters ahead of the match.
Mohammad Hafeaz was the only player who did not make Bangladesh-bound flights after leaving the troops, with Iftikhar Ahmed surrendered as his successor.
Bangladesh missed several senior players who had been ruled out due to injury or resting after the Disaster World Cup campaign, where they failed to win a single Super-12 match.

“What happens happens.
If we think a lot about it that will affect us negatively.
We want to think positively,” he said.

Both were during the evening matches, with fans back to the stands in Bangladesh for the first time since the Shut Pandemi Covid-19 stadium for the crowd in March 2020.
