Islamabad: Pakistan reported more than 4,000 Covid-19 cases for second day in a row, in the midst of the fifth wave of the Coronavirus Pandemic, the National Command said and the operation center (NCOC) on Sunday.
According to NCOC, a total of 51,236 tests were carried out in Pakistan for the past 24 hours, where 4,027 returned positive.
The current level of country’s position is at 7.8 percent.
“Statistics 16 Jan 22: Total tests in the last 24 hours: 51,236 Positivity: 4027 Positivity%: 7.8% Death: 9 Patients in Critical Care: 752,” NCOC said in a tweet.
On Saturday, Pakistan has recorded a new record to report a total of 4,286 cases of Covid in the last 24 hours, the highest since August 25 last year.
Previously, the calculation of the highest number of cases was 3,567 in 24 hours, reporting Geo TV.
Meanwhile, the situation in Karachi can also deteriorate in the coming week because the level of participation here is estimated to reach 50 percent.
Chairman of Sindh Murad Murad Ali Shah said that the virus spread quickly and the decision to impose the lock would be considered in line with the NCOC recommendation.
