Karachi: Pakistan has imposed air travel prohibitions for people who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19, a step that is considered to curb the spread of further viruses, it was reported on Saturday.
In the announcement on Friday, the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) reportedly said the ban would take effect since August 1.
The latest steps came after an increase in Coronavirus cases witnessed throughout the country, as well as the coming threat from the Delta variant outbreak.
In addition to travel ban, NCOC also made it mandatory for all adult students to get themselves vaccinated on August 31.
The day after Prime Minister Imran Khan warned about the spread of the Delta variant, Asad Umar, who also headed NCOC, on Friday it was recognized that the fourth wave had set and issued a new guideline to examine its spread.
NCOC added that various other proposals were being considered to limit unnecessary movements as long as Eidul Azha, which will be decided in the next few days, including tourism restrictions.
